Physical Security Check Validation

Jul 8, 2024

When it comes to building security, commercial buildings are often in a class by themselves.  Security in commercial buildings has become a paramount concern for property managers and tenants alike.  Security checks are employed to maintain control over the flow of people entering and exiting, ensuring safety without compromising accessibility.   By preventing unauthorized access, property managers also strive to ensure tenant safety and the security of their sensitive and valuable information.

State-of-the art technology tools include access control systems that use key cards or biometric access to enter a building or suite, logging data about who enters and exits the building at what times.  Additionally, surveillance systems utilizing strategically placed cameras can monitor all critical areas, providing real-time surveillance and video recordings, which can be crucial for investigations following security incidents.  Likewise, motion detectors add an extra layer of security by detecting unauthorized movement during off-hours.  Such systems are common in hotels, office buildings, medical facilities and government installations.

There is often a human element employed as well with the presence of security personnel.  They not only perform identification checks but also handle emergencies, enforce building policies, often manage a visitor log requiring visitors to check-in and sometimes be escorted to their destination.

One thing we have not seen addressed is how physical checks of doors, windows, elevators, staircases and other areas are tracked and managed.  FormsTrackR has a proven solution for this.  Utilizing our QR code and digital form system, security personnel simply scan the unique QR code posted at each security check location when they check the door, etc.  If anything is found unlocked, they note that on the form and submit it from their smart device.  Then, through automation, the reports they submit each shift are checked in real time and any security points that are missed appear on an exception report.  The security guard can then go back and check the areas missed to maintain one-hundred percent performance.  The building manager can also receive an automated report that lists any exceptions such a door found unlocked so the tenant can be advised of the oversight.

This FormsTrackR solution can be added as an additional tool to the most sophisticated building security systems, but it is so affordable that owners and property managers of much smaller properties can implement it, too.  That is just one more way that FormsTrackR brings value to a wide range of businesses and organizations, without limitations.
